The Maine Coon catis intelligent, friendly, and gentle. Laid-back, and self-assured. Tend to take everything in stride and are great playmates for gentle children.
They can coexist peacefully with other household pets, including other cats and cat-friendly dogs.
They are sociable and inquisitive, and can usually be found wherever the action in the house, inserting themself into every situation. Talkative but not overly loud, they express themselfs through a variety of sofr and melodious meows, chirps and trills. The moore you talk to them, the moore they talk back to you.
They are quite trainable cats and enjoy learning new tricks, responding well to positive training methods.
THey often love water and may play in it, bath in it, dip their food in it and some even swim.
Some like to say that the Maine Coon is a cat variety of a dog… like you see, they like to follow you everywhere, and are intelligent and like to learn new stuff. So somehow they are a reminder of a dog….
